Coordination Across Roof Edges & Water Management

Roof drainage and flashing systems connect the roof covering to walls, fascia, parapets, windows, doors, penetrations, and site drainage.
We review roof plans, elevations, wall sections, details, drainage plans, and specifications to identify gutters, downspouts, scuppers, edge metal, flashing transitions, penetration details, and sealant requirements.

Gutter & Downspout Takeoff

Gutters and downspouts are measured from the roof perimeter and drainage layout. Quantities can include gutter linear footage, downspout lengths, outlets, elbows, end caps, corners, and extensions where documented.
Different gutter and downspout sizes or materials can be separated so contractors can apply the appropriate supplier pricing.

Flashing Takeoff

Flashing requirements vary based on roof material and building geometry. We quantify documented step flashing, valley flashing, drip edge, wall flashing, counterflashing, base flashing, coping, penetration flashing, and other details.
Flashing can be separated by material and application where specifications provide sufficient information.

Roof Sealant & Caulking Estimating

Sealants are required at numerous roof transitions, penetrations, joints, flashing interfaces, and perimeter conditions. We quantify documented sealant requirements where the drawings or specifications identify them.
For detailed cost estimating, labor and material allowances can be incorporated based on the specified sealant type and application.

Roof Drainage Coordination

Gutters, downspouts, scuppers, drains, and related components must work with the roof slope and building drainage system.
We review available drainage and architectural information to identify documented discharge points and drainage components. This helps prevent missing downspouts, outlets, scuppers, and other water-management items during the roofing takeoff.
