Foundation insulation can occur in several different locations within the same project. Below-grade foundation walls, slab edges, basement walls, crawl spaces, and foundation transitions may require different insulation materials, thicknesses, and installation methods.
We review foundation plans, sections, details, specifications, energy information, and available architectural and structural documentation to identify each insulation assembly and quantify it according to the project requirements.

Coordination Across the Foundation Assembly

Foundation insulation interacts with concrete walls, footings, slabs, waterproofing, drainage systems, vapor barriers, protection boards, backfill, and finishes.
We coordinate the insulation takeoff with the available foundation and waterproofing documentation to identify wall heights, slab edges, transitions, penetrations, corners, and other conditions that can affect quantities and installation requirements.

Foundation Wall Insulation Takeoff

Below-grade wall insulation is measured according to actual foundation wall lengths and heights.
Changes in wall elevation, corners, offsets, stepped foundations, retaining conditions, and different insulation requirements can be separated so the takeoff reflects the actual foundation geometry.

Basement & Below-Grade Insulation Estimating

Basement walls may require insulation systems with specific R-values, thicknesses, moisture resistance, and protection requirements.
The estimate can separate different below-grade wall assemblies and identify the insulation materials and accessories required for each condition.

Slab Edge & Perimeter Insulation Estimating

Slab-edge insulation can occur around building perimeters and other specified slab conditions.
Quantities can be measured in linear feet and separated according to insulation type, thickness, height, and installation method where documented.

Foundation Insulation & Waterproofing Coordination

Foundation insulation may be installed alongside waterproofing membranes, drainage boards, protection layers, and other below-grade systems.
We coordinate the available documentation to identify which materials are part of the insulation scope and which belong to the waterproofing or drainage scope.

Foundation Insulation Fasteners & Adhesives

Foundation insulation may use adhesives, mechanical fasteners, attachment plates, or other methods depending on the substrate and specified system.
Where documented, these materials can be quantified separately to provide a more complete installation estimate.

Foundation Insulation for New Construction

New construction estimates can include foundation wall insulation, slab-edge insulation, basement insulation, crawl-space insulation, protection materials, attachment systems, labor, and equipment where applicable.
Foundation plans, sections, details, specifications, and insulation requirements provide the primary basis for the takeoff.
