Trusses with similar square footage can have substantially different costs. Roof pitch, span, spacing, loads, overhangs, heel heights, cantilevers, girder conditions, valleys, hips, and other geometry can change both the number and complexity of trusses required.
We review the architectural and structural plans, roof layouts, truss schedules, framing plans, sections, elevations, and specifications to establish the truss scope. Where engineered truss drawings are available, they can be used to refine quantities and identify individual truss types.

Coordination Across the Roof and Floor Framing

Trusses depend on the supporting wall and structural framing system. Bearing locations, girder trusses, concentrated loads, openings, mechanical equipment, and roof geometry can all affect the framing layout.
We coordinate truss quantities with the available Wood Wall Framing & Stud Takeoff and Wood Structural Components Takeoff scopes so the truss estimate fits into the broader wood framing system.

Roof Truss Takeoff

Roof truss quantities are established from the roof plan and structural framing information. Different truss profiles and configurations can be separated by type, span, spacing, and location.
Special conditions such as girder trusses, valley framing, hip conditions, attic spaces, cantilevers, and varying roof elevations are reviewed separately because they can materially affect the truss package.

Floor Truss Estimating

Floor truss systems can vary based on span, depth, spacing, floor loading, mechanical openings, bearing conditions, and structural requirements.
Where floor truss drawings or framing plans are available, we can quantify trusses by type and location and incorporate associated installation and material costs into the estimate.

Truss Supplier Quote Review

If a truss supplier has already provided a proposal, we can use the available quote alongside the plans and specifications to review scope coverage, quantities, exclusions, and pricing.
This helps contractors determine whether the quoted package covers the complete truss scope or whether additional framing, hardware, delivery, or installation costs need to be carried separately.
