Footing takeoffs cannot reliably be built from a simple linear-foot allowance. Widths, depths, elevations, reinforcement, stepped sections, corners, intersections, and isolated conditions can vary throughout the foundation. We measure these conditions individually and organize quantities by footing type so the estimate reflects the actual structural design.
We also separate concrete, reinforcing steel, formwork, and related installation requirements rather than combining everything into a single foundation allowance. This gives contractors a clearer basis for comparing bids, preparing material orders, and identifying the cost impact of changes to footing dimensions or reinforcement.

Where footing dimensions change at corners, intersections, steps, or concentrated loads, those conditions are separated in the takeoff rather than averaged into a single quantity.
