Free Insulation Estimation Tool

Properly insulating a structure is vital for meeting California's strict Title 24 energy efficiency standards. Whether you're filling wall cavities with R-13 or an attic with R-30, our free calculator tells you exactly how many packages of insulation to purchase.

How to Use This Calculator

Enter the length and width (or height for walls) of the area you intend to insulate. Then, select the standard package coverage for the type of insulation you plan to use.

  • Rolls vs. Batts: Insulation is sold either in continuous rolls (great for long runs) or pre-cut batts (great for standard stud bays). They have different coverage areas per package.
  • Packages Needed: The calculator divides your total square footage by the coverage of the selected package size and rounds up to ensure you don't run short.
