How to Use This Calculator

Enter the linear footage of the walls you are framing and select your desired stud spacing (16" on center is standard for most residential and commercial walls).

  • Total Wall Studs: This automatically adds a 15% allowance for waste, corner assemblies (like California corners), and jack/king studs around doors and windows.
  • Top & Bottom Plates: Assumes a standard single bottom plate and double top plate layout (3 total lengths of the wall).
