How to Use This Calculator

Enter the total square footage of the deck surface. Next, select the length of the boards you plan to purchase (12', 16', or 20') and their actual width.

  • Board Width & Gapping: The tool automatically accounts for a standard 1/8" gap between boards for drainage and expansion.
  • Waste Factor: We automatically apply a 10% waste factor to ensure you have enough material for cuts, mistakes, and future repairs. If you are doing a complex pattern like herringbone or picture-framing, you may need to order more.
